The House of the merchant Kulikov

The House of the merchant Kulikov

Not so long ago one of the most beautiful facades of the buildings on B. Moskovskaya street was restored. Once it was a two-storey merchant's mansion that belonged to Lopatnikov, in the basement of that mansion a bakery was located. But the history preserved another owner of this house – the merchant Kulikov. He built the third floor, and today the house t acquired a recognizable form. The premises of the building Kulikov distributed traditionally: the ground floor was occupied by retail shops, and on the top floor lived the family of a merchant.

In Soviet times, Kulikov's house remained residential. In addition, it was a place for shopping, and for administrative companies. Only by the end of XX century the building was passed to the "Center of the choral music of Vladimir-Suzdal Rus".

In the 2000-s, the old building, finally, was reconstructed. Externally Kulikov's house again appears the elegant merchant's mansion of the XIX century, and inside it has a modern Center of classical music. In 2012, the building complemented the pretty lights, and now the house of Kulikov is pleasing to the eye at any time of the day.

Accepted by the local protection of monuments of history and culture of the Vladimir region. It is a monument of town planning and architecture of regional significance.

Today: ”The Center of classical music”.
