The Museum of military glory

The Museum of military glory consists of several rooms - stationary expositions. The exposition has authentic documents and photographs, letters, awards, personal belongings of participants and veterans of the Great Patriotic war, soldiers-internationalists, the participants of local wars and armed conflicts, items from the personal collections of retired officers who served in the Russian Army.

The Improvised Golden Gate opens its doors to the hall number 1, which reflects the military history of the Russian country, beginning with the victory of Alexander Nevsky at the Chudskoe Lake, and ending with the revolution of 1917.

In the exposition you can see the weapon and the uniform of this epoch: chain armor, helmet, battle hammers, mace, crossbow and arrows, paintings and diagrams of the great battles: the battle of the Ice, the battle of Kulikovo, “The Liberation of Moscow”, “The Capture of Ishmael”, the battle of Borodino.

Exhibition display (halls №2, №3), is dedicated to the longest, bloodiest war in human history – The Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945. A large collection of items, telling about the war, is represented here: the models of weapon, military equipment, uniforms, awards, photographs, documents, letters and posters. The specificity of the exposition is a rare photographs of soldiers, archival materials. The main place in the hall occupies the dugout - the field command headquarters, recreated in real size. A military life is fully represented here. Among the items the visitors can see: the small stoves, telephone and Telegraph apparatus, the sanitary bag, a flask, a pot. The items of great interest for children are the war-period airplane bomb and the layouts of the antipersonnel hedgehogs. Also in the exposition are displayed the samples of weapon, created on the Degtyarev's military factory, among them – Shpagin submachine gun , the most massive weapon of all small automatic weapon of the II World War . In the same row are the military and labor feats.

Exhibition hall number 4 is dedicated to the events of local wars (Afghanistan, Chechnya) and the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This exhibition gives you the opportunity to appreciate the momentous nature of the events of local wars, to understand the true heroism of our countrymen, their unyielding courage, the particular spirit of military brotherhood and the faithful love for the Motherland.

Exhibition hall number 5 - The military units and formations, stationed in the Vladimir garrison. The exposition allows you to convey to the younger generations that military service is very different from that which had been in the past and is an honorary duty of a citizen. The army is like a red diploma that opens the way to the future. The hall reflects the specificity of various types of troops.
