The Belfry

In the building of the men's classical gymnasium ( B. Moscovskaya street, 35) was a church in the name of the Holy Prince Alexander. It was built simultaneously with the new building of the gymnasium in 1841 on the money of the Vladimir nobility. Architects E. Y. Petrov and V. G. Draganov. It was a single throne in the name of the saint blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky in it.

By decree of the Holy Synod of 1841, it should be: "the priest and the acolyte. For the maintenance of the clergy: to the priest 200 roubles, to the psalmist -100 roubles. Both the church and the gymnasium existed until 1918.

In 2002-2003, to the facade of the former building of the men's gymnasium was built two-arched belfry as a memorial sign of the lost church. The red-brick belfry was the repetition of the previously existed on this place the church belfry, which has stood without a dome for a long time after closing the house church .
